Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

November 3, 2011

$20 and under, 1 star, Moisturizers

1 Star. I don’t understand the following this lotion has. I think my skin is not appropriate for this product. I have tried it many times given its massive cult following. But I have never been happy with it and see so many other lotions out there that I like better. I have been told by a Clinique spokesperson that DDML is for dry/combination skin. If you are dry only in certain areas, you should use DDML only in those dry areas. This I don’t understand. I want a lotion I can use all over my face. Not in certain patches. I am told that if you are normal to oily skin, you should use the oil-free gel version rather than the lotion. But I dislike the gel version just as much as I dislike the lotion. Clinique has also told me that one of the reasons I don’t like it is because I am not using the entire three step system. The facial soap, clarifying lotion and DDML together.  Maybe this is true, but I have tried the soap and I don’t like it. So I am not going to start using the whole system when I don’t like the components in hopes that when I put all three steps together it will magically work better. My conclusion: if you have truly dry, flaky skin (and are not acne prone or oil at all), this cream may work wonders for you. It your skin is anything else, I would not recommend it. ~Robyn ~Approx cost $20

I have never liked it either. They always give it away in their promotional packages, but it is just greasy and goopy. Yuck!
